FACILITATING CONFERENCES FOR SCHOOLS & COMMUNITIES

While school community personnel may have been trained to facilitate Community Conferences for incidents of serious harm such as bullying, assaults, persistent disruption, property damage & truancy, there may be occasions when using an independent facilitator may be a distinct advantage in the wake of a particularly contentious incident or issue.

RESTORATIVE PRACTICE IN SCHOOLS: A RELATIONAL APPROACH TO MANAGING BEHAVIOUR

This one day workshop is designed for staff in schools which are implementing (or are about to) restorative practice as a whole of school initiative. It will give staff an opportunity to explore their own beliefs and practices about discipline and is an introduction and orientation to the restorative philosophy and practice.

LEADING RESTORATIVELY (Advanced training)

This two day workshop is designed for senior and middle managers in schools which are already implementing restorative practice. It focuses on the development of leadership skills and their application to the implementation process, and of course to other areas of curriculum and management in the school. Participants will complete a leadership profile for analysis during the workshop. This workshop also covers typical issues which confront senior and middle line managers in managing their own line staff behaviours. Senior and middle managers will at the same time develop skills in and understanding of the application of restorative practice in the often thorny issue of workplace conflict.
